Genetic Regulators of Skin Development and Disease

The skin is our largest organ and a dynamic, living interface with the outside world that renews and repairs itself throughout life.

We investigate the molecular and genetic programs that build and sustain healthy skin, and how these pathways are disrupted in disease. Our work explores how genetic variation and environmental stressors influence epidermal development, repair, and homeostasis.

By integrating genomic approaches with cellular and patient-derived models, we uncover how the genome governs skin regeneration and resilience— with the goal of translating these discoveries into new ways to understand and treat skin disorders.
