Bryan Sun, M.D., Ph.D.

Bryan received his bachelor's degrees in English and Biological Sciences from Stanford University. He was part of the Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP) at Harvard Medical School, earning his M.D. degree and Ph.D. in genetics in the laboratory of Jeannie Lee. Bryan completed his medical internship and dermatology residency at Stanford and performed postdoctoral training with Paul Khavari under an F32 NRSA. He joined the University of California San Diego faculty in 2016. He has been awarded a Doris Duke Clinician Scientist Award, the American Society for Clinical Investigation Young Investigator Award, and an NIH Director's New Innovator Award. Bryan is the course director for the UCSD Medical School pre-clinical dermatology block and the Biomedical Sciences Seminars in Genetics course. He has an active dermatology practice at UCSD with a particular interest in genetic skin diseases.
